Goodbye Extended Stay America Hotel

Hello Residence Inn
(this is the only pic. i could find of the new hotel i'll be working at lol)

Yayyy i'm finally leaving extended stay after a long 1 year and 6 months. I been wanting to leave this company but i got so comfortable that it was hard to motivate myself to look for a new job. It got to the point where i made my own schedules and could call in anytime i wanted. Yeah it sounds good but only because i'm the longest employee at this property can you believe it for the time I've been at this job I've trained 3 employees and have seen 3 other people get fired. I've come to love my managers and trust them as well. 5 months ago i was offered a promotion to step up and be an assistant manager but i couldn't accept the position only because i knew i was going to leave this company to go to a better one. Sad to say it took me this long to finally leave ha ha ha i just enjoyed my 4 day weekends and convenient schedule.
So last Tuesday my mom said "tio marriott is hiring you need to go get fill out a app and turn in your resume" and if it was anyone else who said that to me i would've said ok maybe later. Not in this case i knew my mom would nag me to death until i actually did it. To avoid her nagging i just printed out my resume that day and went in. It was refreshing to get a call back the same day and get an interview for wednesday which was the next day. I know i wanted to either work at a Hilton or a Marriott and good thing that Residence Inn is by Marriott because i hear the benefits are great. The whole interview process was of course nerve wrecking i didn't remember how that whole process felt but oh how quick it came to me a few days before my interview. The first interview with the assistant manager went so well that it didn't feel like an interview i'm a people person and i click very easy with people so it was easy to break the ice. I started to get nervous when she said i was up against 13 other people like woow thanks for telling me that.lol...When we ended the interview i felt very confident. Sure enough the next day, thursday the assitant manager called me and asked me to come in on friday to meet the big boss the area manager who runs the whole hotel. I went in for my second interview and it was just like the 1st, same questions and same stuff i heard already. Towards the end of the interview the boss said he would be right back and he came back with mai the assistant manager and they asked me if i would like to join there team! i was so excited i immediately accepted and we began the paperwork. I guess i'm over excited because when i was looking for a job 2 years ago it was so hard and this time was a whole different story. I put my 2 weeks in at my job as soon as i got in the car and i called my mom to tell her the news. I have to admit if she didn't say anything i probably still wouldn't have even started looking for another job. these 2 weeks are going to be very hectic juggling two jobs at once but it'll be all worth it.
yay tio! how exciting... you will be repromoted in no time, and yes, you really do click easy with peeps. if you get that good of benefits then all you guys need is for alex to work at the airlines and yall got it made! LOL miss ya!
