New Job

Goodbye Extended Stay America Hotel

Hello Residence Inn
(this is the only pic. i could find of the new hotel i'll be working at lol)
Yayyy i'm finally leaving extended stay after a long 1 year and 6 months. I been wanting to leave this company but i got so comfortable that it was hard to motivate myself to look for a new job. It got to the point where i made my own schedules and could call in anytime i wanted. Yeah it sounds good but only because i'm the longest employee at this property can you believe it for the time I've been at this job I've trained 3 employees and have seen 3 other people get fired. I've come to love my managers and trust them as well. 5 months ago i was offered a promotion to step up and be an assistant manager but i couldn't accept the position only because i knew i was going to leave this company to go to a better one. Sad to say it took me this long to finally leave ha ha ha i just enjoyed my 4 day weekends and convenient schedule.

So last Tuesday my mom said "tio marriott is hiring you need to go get fill out a app and turn in your resume" and if it was anyone else who said that to me i would've said ok maybe later. Not in this case i knew my mom would nag me to death until i actually did it. To avoid her nagging i just printed out my resume that day and went in. It was refreshing to get a call back the same day and get an interview for wednesday which was the next day. I know i wanted to either work at a Hilton or a Marriott and good thing that Residence Inn is by Marriott because i hear the benefits are great. The whole interview process was of course nerve wrecking i didn't remember how that whole process felt but oh how quick it came to me a few days before my interview. The first interview with the assistant manager went so well that it didn't feel like an interview i'm a people person and i click very easy with people so it was easy to break the ice. I started to get nervous when she said i was up against 13 other people like woow thanks for telling me that.lol...When we ended the interview i felt very confident. Sure enough the next day, thursday the assitant manager called me and asked me to come in on friday to meet the big boss the area manager who runs the whole hotel. I went in for my second interview and it was just like the 1st, same questions and same stuff i heard already. Towards the end of the interview the boss said he would be right back and he came back with mai the assistant manager and they asked me if i would like to join there team! i was so excited i immediately accepted and we began the paperwork. I guess i'm over excited because when i was looking for a job 2 years ago it was so hard and this time was a whole different story. I put my 2 weeks in at my job as soon as i got in the car and i called my mom to tell her the news. I have to admit if she didn't say anything i probably still wouldn't have even started looking for another job. these 2 weeks are going to be very hectic juggling two jobs at once but it'll be all worth it.

Prepare ye the way of the lord

now for something much more exciting! My 1st cousin Fine Feinga received his calling yesterday to serve the people of Manila, Philippines for 2 years!!! Yayy he’s one of the many people I know to get called to the Philippines. I’m so proud of him I’ve known him my whole life and knew that he would grow up to be a great example to me even though he’s younger than I. I look up to him for the sacrifices he’s making to put the lord first =) My friends tell me the Filipino people are just like the Tongans so fine will fit in perfect...lol..

Fine and Meili are 2 missionaries...meili still in the process of receiving his calling

Musical Fireside

Sunday night the YSA had a fireside to conclude there activities for that weekend and of course we went. I didn’t take any pics because I mostly went to hear my older brother siate speak and listen to the musical numbers right after that I left. It was my second musical fireside I’ve been too and it was exquisite. They had just the right amount of speakers and the musical numbers were inspiring. I spirit was so strong it was hard to just sit there I have to admit after a few of the musical numbers I wanted to get up and add myself to the program and sing a hymn but I didn’t want to scare the spirit away with my voice…lol…the last speaker which was one of the young adults from the bay could not have ended the fireside any better than he did. He was funny and spiritual, but this is something that he shared that I will not forget. “There are only 3 things we will take with us to the next life.

1. Our Character

2. Our Knowledge

3. Our Relationships

Sooo make the best of your relationships with your friends, parents and everyone else =)

Spread a LiL Aloha

Spread a LiL Aloha

Spread a lil Aloha around the world..lol..that song just came to mind…so it was that time of the year ALOHA FESTIVAL time that is. If your from Arizona you know that the aloha fest. is a pretty popular place to go to or to take part of by dancing with a group. We go every year and the first year they had the aloha fest. siate and I danced with a samoan group I believe it was back in 2004 I might be wrong but I do know it was the first ever ever. Since then we danced with laukau and margite the next year. This year big alex was working doubles all weekend so he didn't get to come which was a bummer but it was ok since i was with my brother, my sis and some of my cousins. We just watched shows and walked around ate some vilo vilo chicken which is the bomb dot com. But nothing exciting its nice to see everyone there and hang out but its not as good as it used to be in the past. i think in the past it was more exciting because I was on stage.lol. I miss dancing sucks now because as you know in the tongan culture you get married then you give up dancing but I told my self when I lose a ton of weight I’m totally dance haha ha who knows when that will happen though ha ha ha….next year I’m making siaosi and lina dance because it would be fun to cheer and go wild for someone he he he I bought a turtle bracelet and that was it ha ha ha nothing else caught my eye the tonga shirts were alright but I wouldn’t spend $20 on one when my dad could just bring me one from tonga…lol. But I have to say samoa totally dominates. Everything I would buy with a nice design had samoa on it the turtle rings, the shirts, the bracelets I mean dang can tonga get some love too ha ha ha I got love mad love for da hamo’s my sis is hamo kass…I’m just sayin… I wish we had a lil more to work with ha ha ha all in all aloha fest was ok this year.

Dance Fever

Last friday the Arizona Polynesian YSA hosted the Bay Area YSA they kicked it off with a dance on friday night.I know i'm not in YSA but i invited myself to the dance anyway and i know it bothered some people that i was there but ask me if i care?! its not like i'm some 40 yr old fob who came to check out guys...NO THANK YOU i just wanted to dance i'm not a Young Single Adult but I’m a Young Adult ha ha ha still works why not I’m sure the lord wouldn’t mind.amen to that. i went to the dance with my brothers siate and siaosi, siaosi being 16 not a YSA made people mad too ha ha My moms neighbor louann came with us too she's 20 and a YSA so no one was really bothered by her we met up with my 1st cousins taufa and penili. Penili you guessed it he's not a YSA ha ha ha we were just pushin it to the limits that night. We had so much fun gettin crunk, fist pumping, beatin the beat, jerkin and skankin. I mean the YSA should be happy we were there we made the dance. If we weren't there people would've just sat there the whole night staring at eachother. Around 11 people were tired and sitting down but not our lil crew we were still dancing hardout till the closing prayer ha ha ha last time we all went together to a YSA dance and went wild was in november but jeeez all i gotta say is we hold it down..lol..

My brother siate, cousin oti, louann and my lil bro siaosi

we were dancing till we saw a camera…lol…lila and kesa stopped by too

ok who’s throwing up gang signs behind us???..lol….

mone, oti, tee, penile, siale and me…silly boys.

louann and the boys…she had sooo much fun that night

kovi, lou, kesa, lila, oti and urs truly ha ha ha

us with siaosi finally he wasn’t in any pics L

Following the dance they had a bonfire at my cousin spencer’s house.I begged my brother to drop me off because I felt weird going and I only wanted to go to the dance not the friggin single to mingle session so I tell my older brother “hello they’re having the bonfire so you can all mingle and what am I gonna do?” siate replies with “if I take you home we’re all going home.” Then everyone in the car puts me on a guilt trip saying tio your gonna ruin the whole night, party pooper, stop acting like an old lady blahh blahh blahh then I finally say ok ok guys nevermind lets just go to the bonfire dammit ha ha ha. We got there and the Spanish YSA were there already, gathered around the fire drinking hot cocoa and eating bread rolls. Louann and I went and sat by the fire talking and just watching everyone interact it was so hilarious because I grew up with everyone there they are all my age and just seeing them in the dating scene was funny.

OHHHH EMMM GEEEE I cannot forget to add this in but the whole night siate was talking to this girl soo I’m like uh ohh she totally likes him because I know my brother he didn’t go to the dance that night to talk to girls he went to hang with the boys. She kept askin him to dance and he was just went with the flow because that’s just how he is..lol...then on the dance floor me and the louann closer to get a good look at her face because you know its dark and well we wanted to see what she looked like. Well come to find out she’s our cousin bwuahahha I don’t know her but I know her older sister and that’s how I recognized her. Before I could even break the news to siate my cousin taufa already insists siate is related to her because taufa is also related to her…lol..yupp that was the last song they danced too Ha ha ha we made fun of him for the rest of the night but I mean its not a big deal it happens to everyone wait….not everyone….every tongan I can admit its happened to me once or twice but nothing serious happened thank goodness but yea siate’s lil incident added some more humor to our lovely night.

My PooR BaBy

This past saturday my lil bby was admitted to desert banner hospital because he was having such a hard time breathing. It was so scary you could see his ribs and his whole body trying to help him breathe. it was a good call taking him into ER his oxygen levels were severely low and he wasn't getting enough oxygen so they hooked him up to the oxygen machine and we were taken straight into a room and immediately the nurses went to work checking all his vitals. this is the part i hate it was hard restraining myself from not jumping up and punching all these nurses. they stuck a tube up his nose down to his throat and took samples to take tests to make sure nothing was wrong my son crying and yelling mommy while i stood there helping 3 other nurses hold him down. i knew this was what they'd have to do that it was necessary to make sure nothing serious was going on. finally they took the tube out and he jumped into my arms my poor baby this was all my fault i wish there was some way i could shield away everything from ever hurting him. then we went through this whole thing 2 more times when they had to take blood. i hate this watching him suffer something i knew every mother would have to go through. we finally got settled in our room and it was so nice. the room was in the newly built pediatrics center where all the rooms had pull out couches, flat screen tv's, refrigerators, and internet. it was lil alex's fav. they had his movies on their tv programs finding nemo, bolt and monsters vs. alien. i think i know these movies by heart now..lol..so the hospital isn't as bad as i thought it would be and all the staff is very nice. hopefully my lil man will be out tomorrow i hope. i'm so proud of him he's being such a good boy. he misses playing tennis with his papa and keeps asking to go to his papa's house. his happiest time of the day is when his visitors are here. i love my family they're always here for him and they always bring me food ha ha ha the only thing my husband likes is that he can help himself to the galley where all the free food is ha ha ha but yea other than we are just hoping and praying lil alex will get better soon and we can all go home.

See Ya Later Alligator!

This past Monday moni and kass took us to the Everglades Holiday Park. Where we took an airboat tour on the everglades and got to see some real life gatorrrs!!! Finally of all the times I’ve been to florida I’ve always hoped I would find a gator crossing the road or see one in a canal but no, not until I went to the everglades. We saw 3 alligators and even some baby ones as well.

It was so adorable when I looked to the row infront of us and saw bby toa sleeping as we were sailing away
While lil alex couldn’t stop chewing on his alligator toy we bought him in the gift shop.

After the airboat tour the had the alligator show it was pretty interesting the trainer did some crazy tricks with the alligator that none of us would dare try but the best part was in the end lil alex got to hold a baby alligator he was sooo thrilled that he wanted to hold it by himself crazy lil child. We had so much fun seeing the wild side of florida.

Sunshine State

Sunshine State

My family and I just recently hopped on a plane to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and had the greatest 5 days this whole year…so far…lol…we stayed in Weston with my 1st cousin moni and his family and loved every minute of it! Its been so long since we’ve gotten to spend time with them and this was the perfect time. We spent some good family time just hanging out catching up on life and just relaxing. I finally had the chance to hangout with his wife kass and I love her to death. She’s the kind of person you talk with and feel like you’ve known her forever. She’s perfect for my cousin she’s down to earth and such a good hearted person. Moni, he has just grown up so fast from the time he was always just down stairs playing games ha ha ha just to see him now in daddy mode was crazy he’s doing such a good job at being a husband, daddy and provider for his beautiful family. Now for the best part Toalei Siaosi Feinga he’s their world their everything and I know why. He’s such a happy baby he loves to be around people. At last I was able to hold him and meet him for the first time he’s a beautiful creation and his dimples are wayyyy cuter than baby alex’s ha ha ha and here they are below

Below are some pics of when we went to Hollywood beach this view was so live! It was the 1st time I’ve ever been there! (thanks moni and kass) there were tons of shops and so much going on people passing by riding bikes or scooters skateboarding it was neat. We ate some pizza at this nice little restaurant on the boardwalk it was yummm. Baby alex of course couldn’t concentrate on eating when the ocean was just right there calling his name lol…so alex and I took turns taking him out to shore.baby toa was getting heaps of attention from everyone that’s just how cute he is its exciting when different people reach out to him wanting to touch him asking questions about him he is definitely the show stopper my cutie lil nephew =) we finished off walking a little more and then eating some ice cream.

M.i.A.

Wooo hooo we’re back on board ha ha ha I know we’ve been missing in action all these months but I’m here and ready to type my life away. I still can’t believe how time has come and gone. My little monster William Alexander Medlin V aka booga or puka is 2 ½ now and he’s getting so big it makes me sad. My husband is now 23 and i’ll be 22 this year we’re officially really getting old together. Feels like yesterday when I first met him at church white boy with a grill from Miami…lol…we are so blessed surrounded with family who love and care for us. There’s nothing in this world that could make me as happy as my family does!
